No, you can only post from the backend. There has been a feature request to post from the front end... stay tuned.

Sorry to have to say this, but without this feature how do you expect this component to work?

We have a gemology site, where we want to add a job listing section. So how are the employers supposed to post job offerings? In the Joomla's Admin? The minute they open that Admin, they'll run away!

You just can't do that it has to be done via the frontend.

I spent 3 hours figuring this component out, only to find that the most important feature is not available - OMG!

It's been more than a year and still this feature is still not available????

Your concern is addressed in the FAQ.

This feature will be available in a later release, believe it or not, some users do not require that functionality.Smile

Yes, well you can do it manually with a form, have the employer fill out all the job details, sent to an email and you manually enter the listing. However that is not practical.

This component should have that feature, so you only go to the backend and approve/dissaprove the listing.Hope to see it in the future.

I had to find another one that does have it, now I have to spend another 3 hours figuring that one out Cry

Thanks for your interest though.

I'd be curious to know which component you did decide on, if you have time to post it here.

Thanks!

Bob.

I also desperately need this function. The only other way that I can think of is to possibly find a mod that will restrict what is show when you login to the back end.????

Really would like this done from front end though. I haven't had a proper play with this component but first impressions says it is much better than the other one I've been playing with.

Yup randelld, installing an ACL component to obtain granular permissions for backend usergroups would be one solution.

Any update on this? I mean I have a few sites waiting for this functionality but none published because without this function this entire job posting makes no sense.

I too would like to see front end access. here is my attempt, it ads the ability to create the menu link for users but I'm likely not linking to the right part of Jobgrok to make this work on the front end. I'm getting 500 errors currently, so it's the wrong link or a permissions thing within jobgrok. the file needs to be placed in the views portion of the component directory. I think the .xml file should link to "posting" although it returns a 500 error since it's trying to pull a admin page to a front end location. This will likely require expanding the php sections for creating a front end (I'm basing that guess off the front end code used for other components)
